Surrender in Bangladesh Liberation War of 1971 and 'Pakistan Studies'

جس طرح انیسو اکہتر کو سرینڈر کا ڈھونگ رچا کر جعلی تصویریں بنا کر دنیا کو گمراہ کیا جارہا ہے ۔
اگر انیسو اکہتر میں پاکستان نے سرینڈر کیا تھا تو اسکا ذکر مطالعہ پاکستان میں کیوں نہیں ؟

जिस तरह 1971 को सरेंडर का ढोंग रचा कर जाली तस्वीरें बना कर दुनिया को गुमराह किया जा रहा है.
अगर 1971 में पाकिस्तान ने सरेंडर किया था तो उसका ज़िक्र मुतालआ-ए-पाकिस्तान में क्यों नहीं?

Just like the way the world is being misled with fake pictures of the surrender in 1971.

If Pakistan did indeed surrender in 1971, why does that not find a mention in Pakistan Studies?

Pakistan Studies (Urdu: مطالعہ پاکستان Muṭāla e-Pākistān मुतालआ-ए-पाकिस्तान) is the name of a curriculum of academic research and study that encompasses the culture, demographics, geography, history, and politics of Pakistan.

In Pakistan, the subject is one of the three compulsory courses (along with the Urdu and English language courses) at the Secondary School and Higher Secondary school levels of education. It is also taught as a degree course at most of the Social Science departments in many universities.

According to the Sustainable Development Policy Institute report, "Associated with the insistence on the Ideology of Pakistan has been an essential component of hate against India and the Hindus. For the upholders of the Ideology of Pakistan, the existence of Pakistan is defined only in relation to Hindus, and hence the Hindus have to be painted as negatively as possible".

Fall of East Pakistan

Instead of setting the record straight on the creation of Bangladesh and the reasons for the separation, students in the Matric and Intermediate levels of school (class nine through 12) are being taught conspiracy theories and a factually incorrect version of history.

The Pakistan Studies textbook for class nine and ten fails to mention Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto or the role of the PPP throughout the essay on Bangladesh and the 1971 War. Following are a few of the reasons listed in the textbook for the “Fall of East Pakistan”.
'Role of Hindu teachers'
"A large number of Hindu teachers were teaching in the educational institutions in East Pakistan. They produced such literature which created negative thinking in the minds of Bengalis against the people of West Pakistan."
International Conspiracies
"About 10 million Hindus were living in East Pakistan. India stood at the back of these Hindus to protect their interests. India wanted to separate East Pakistan to strengthen the economic position of the Hindus. Many Hindus acted as spies for India. Russia was against Pakistan because Pakistan had allowed America to establish military bases in Pakistan. On the other hand, America also wanted separation of East Pakistan. Under the circumstances Russia openly supported India’s aggression against Pakistan.”

The Pakistani press adopted the following three discursive strategies to report on the 1971 war: Pakistan would come victorious, invocation of religion and calls for restraint and patience.

Right from the very beginning, the press told its readers that Pakistan was winning this war because it had gallant forces, was morally and ethically uplifted and had the support of the whole civilized world.

The two newspapers (Dawn and Jang) predominantly invoked religion to muster support against the ‘Indian aggression’. 

Daily Dawn in its December 5 issue reported, “Our treacherous enemy has attacked us again. Allah is with us and we will create a history by defeating a five times bigger enemy. The coward attack reflects Brahmin mentality to disintegrate Pakistan.” 

Similarly, daily Jang (Dec 5, 1971) reported that India wanted to stop the growth of Islam by killing our men and making our children and women subservient. Referring to Islamic history, in another account, the same newspaper exhorted on Pakistani Muslims, “Jihad (holy war) is obligatory. We offer our chests to bullets and continue fighting till the last blood”.

However, when India succeeded in defeating Pakistan and arrested its 94000 soldiers, the media though never conceded that India has won this war, asked countrymen to be patient and warned the international community against the ‘scourge of India and her baby Bangladesh’ (Jang, Dec 20, 1971).
